Therapy is just one piece of the puzzle, so we strive to provide treatment strategies that can be integrated in the home and other environments. A child may benefit from skilled intervention if he or she demonstrates: · Delayed gross or fine motor skills, such as: - balance challenges - motor planning and coordination difficulties - limited bilateral skills - difficulty with postural control and strength - difficulty with hand strength and manipulation skills - limited visual motor and visual perceptual skills - functional movement challenges
· Speech or language delays, such as - difficulty producing speech sounds - difficulty discriminating speech sounds - difficulty expressing wants and needs - difficulty with understanding language concepts - difficulty following directions - difficulty interacting with peers - difficulty answering questions
· Communication/Relating to others such as - difficulty referencing caregivers, adults, peers - difficulty with joint attention - difficulty with experience sharing - difficulty with physical or emotional connectedness - · Intolerance of sensory input or high sensory seekers. · Delayed or inappropriate play or social skills. · Limited food preferences or picky eaters. · Handwriting difficulties. · Other delayed age-appropriate skills Assessment and Intervention Therapy for Me! provides assessment and intervention services for gross/fine motor delays, speech/language delays, articulation disorders, fluency disorders, sensory processing deficits, feeding disturbances, pragmatic/social delays, delayed play skills, and social-emotional delays.
Assessments are typically covered by your insurance company, but we require the member to call and verify benefits. If you have had a recent assessment (last 6 months) call us to discuss your intervention options!
*Note: Speech and Occupational Therapy are two separate disciplines that are billed separately
